I really like RL products but the business folks at RL sure aren't trying to help us out... I got an email this morning about an iC + accuFACE bundle. Buy iC8 and accuFACE separately or buy the BUNDLE and save, well, a single click because you only have to add one item to your cart instead of two...

Kelleytoons (11/6/2023) So if AccuFace doesn't work better than LiveFace the only advantage is if you have an RTX card and not an iPhone.Personally I've had enough of the teensy weensy cell phone screen. Webcam face capture is overdue. Next, I hope for full 3D head turning.

Yeah, I'm not sure why this is even an issue - regardless of what setup you use you'll still end up with a teensy weensy screen (either on your phone or your computer). And it doesn't matter in the slightest, as you only hook it to the character and shouldn't care beyond setup. But, whatever - I am still skeptical about lighting because Faceware was a royal PITA compared to Live Face directly due to this. I'm not about to try and redo my computer room lighting just to get this to work but I'll at least demo it and see (and put a video showing the two systems, Live Face and this, side by side. We'll see who wins).

I purchased it yesterday within half an hour of watching the demo video, mainly because it gave me an immediate opportunity to replace Faceware in my pipeline. I ran some initial tests last night on some pre-recorded footage, and it worked brilliantly. The automation of acculips directly into the pipeline saves me a lot of time - previously, I was using Faceware and masking the jaw and then manually using acculips in a layering process, but this is much more organic. To calibrate the video I paused it on key frames that mimicked the requirements - I think I still need to play with that a little to refine it, but overall a vast improvement on what I had - and for context I have two 3080's an a Samsung phone so have never been able to use anything other than Faceware.

This pic shows a full screen. He's slid the Accuface view screen over to a dedicated monitor. I want to work this way.

I just installed the trial version. Tiny text again. They just can't get the scaling right. Here, AccuFace compared to the browser font size. No setting to assign the font size. Unfortunate. Worse, AccuFace distorts the face badly to the extent that the results are not usable. I'm disappointed. I suggest the trial version before committing to this software.

I had better luck with tracking after I shaved off my facial hair, especially around the mouth area. Still got the random distortions but it was a lot more stable. You might want to grab another person to test it on.

RowdyWabbid (11/8/2023) I had better luck with tracking after I shaved off my facial hair, especially around the mouth area. Still got the random distortions but it was a lot more stable. You might want to grab another person to test it on. No question about it. A long mustache will definitely interfere with lipsync. I've noticed this using both Live Face or Face Mojo (in DAZ). The lips must be clearly visible. A close beard trim solves this. These two programs work fine, BTW. This is the kind of behavior I want out of AccuFace. I'll fall back to Live Face if I have to. I believe it will run on an iPad, giving me a larger screen. The facial distortion I see in AccuFace is extreme including wild eyeballs, one eyebrow up, mouth sucking a straw but not moving, that kind of thing - far beyond mustache interference. It looks setup related. A session of "press every button and see what happens" may solve this. I do have a suspicion. I happened across a small panel with a list of what you might call "lipsync presets." I'd never seen it before. I noticed that, at the top of the list, there was an AccuFace preset. I wonder what that does. I don't even know where it is. If you know, please share.
