Hi...when I created my character using a G3 Template like in the video, my hip and bone layers will not connect, even when I use the double binding. I've tried everything I could think of and gone through the manual but I have not been able to find a solution.  Also, the + sign does not appear to allow me to add a layer, so it fits exactly on the character without having to resize it the way it is shown on the Character Creation video. Has anyone else had this issue or know how to fix this?  Below is a link to the video I did to show what I mean.

Hi...

Your question is a little confusing. You refer to using Character Creator but your video shows Cartoon Animator. :ermm:

So assuming the issue relates to Cartoon Animator, the problem is you have separate images for the torse and hip instead of the one required. If you look at the example G3 character below you will see the Hip image covers both the hip bone and the torso bone. You can check this yourself by opening one of the G3 characters included with Cartoon Animator and taking them into Composer mode. This should help show how the images should fully encompass the correct bones for the character to function correctly.

Thank you Peter!  I appreciate the information and response.  So if I understand you correctly, I should make the hip, torso and neck as one image (One piece) instead of three separate images? Also, if you could lead me to the section in the manual that shows this, I would greatly appreciate it.  I have been trying to resolve this for over 5 months now and your response was the first that is guided to helping me resolve this and again, greatly appreciated.

So I can guide you in the right direction, please can you let me know how you created your character. Was it using the Templates (Photoshop, Illustrator etc.) or was all the work done in CTA5 itself using sprite replacement? This is important as the workflow differs with each method.

Hi Peter...sure and yes it was CA5 that I was referring to, when I submitted it.  I create my characters from scratch using MOHO PRO 13.5 after I draw them.  I then export the character parts into a folder as PNG files.  I tried creating my characters in iCLONE, Character Creator and CA but it could not create the images that I wanted to create so I decided to use iClone and CA for their animations instead. I have tried other characters in CA that I created with the same Hip and Torso issue (see attached characters).  Please let me know if you see any issues with the attached characters so I can correct them if you don't mind. Please let me know if you have any other questions and again, thanks for all your assistance.

Almost forgot to ask you, when I go through the Character creator using G3 video, I  noticed that he was able to use the (+) sign at the bottom of the Layer menu which saves a lot of time and trouble in resizing the parts but I would never get the (+) sign as and option when I go to replace the images.  It would be great to know if I need to do something different in order to be able to utilize the option of the (+) sign...thanks again.

Late to the party, but yes, torso, and also part of the trousers should all be one layer. Dropped a quick example. https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/57aa925c-504b-4f0f-bcea-2e82.jpg

The + (Add Image) button will only become active when you have the correct bone layer selected. So in the example shown below, when you select the RForearm then the + symbol will become active and you can add a new image to your character.
