Dear friends!
Right now I have a special challenge.
I plan to make some YouTube videos with animated lions.
This lion;
https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-models/animals/mammal/male-lion-animated-vfx-grace
is perfect to modify for my purposes, but it is very expensive and will perhaps not work with iClone.
I want to make two talking lions, commenting on Norwegian politicians. CGtrader says the lion they sell cannot be converted to fbx.
Do you have any suggestions?

best regards

There is a cheap lion in Reallusion Market Place here: https://marketplace.reallusion.com/toon-lion-420793.

It is fully compatible with iClone motions and facial animation, including lip-synching. This is much easier than trying to make a non-RL product suitable.

Forget about anything from non-reallusion sources, unless it specifically promises the animator will convert to iClone.
It's hellish to try to buy assets outside, unless it's a simple object with nothing but textures to worry about.
Anything animated, and you are royally out of luck!
I tried to find a simple squirrel a year ago, bought 3, and couldn't get any of them into iClone.

And no one wants to refund you.

One of the nice things about reallusion, is in fact their library of objects and animations.

I don't think the lion model you linked will work for you; it was made for Blender and that is probably the only 3D program it will work in properly. Yes, it may look good/impressive (and for that kind of money it had better), but I'm pretty sure it is not suitable for lip syncing. You would also lose the fur in iClone and have a hell of a difficult time to get the animation to work.

So unless you are dead set on photo-realistic lion models, I would forget about this for use in iClone. And, if you are looking for the lions to comment on politics, using more stylized/cartoony models (as was already suggested) may make more sense that something that look "real".

Humanoid Lion King might be an additional alternative.

I have a couple of suggestions.  There is a realistic looking lion in Animal World Vol. 4 Fierce Animals I.  You cannot use a lip sync with this lion but you can create a talking sequence using the bone edit mode.  My other suggestion would be to use the current 2D animation software.  I used to use Crazy Talk to make all kinds of animals talk.

Good sugestion! I do in fact have that lion! The mouth can open and the head can turn sideways and upand down. But no other facial animation possibilities...

That's why I suggested trying with the cheap lion from the Marketplace: https://marketplace.reallusion.com/toon-lion-420793.

It may not look as fancy, but it will be much easier to work with.
