So, you can bring in any boned character into I-clone 8? With just I-clone 8? Or do I have to have cc4 to do this? and if so why?

Anything I see for videos there are no instructions to just bring in any character to just Iclone 8 natively.

And if there separate applications, then I should not need one app to make another app to work correctly.

Please help my confusion.

To be able to import a character from a 3rd party source and then (optionally) rig it with bones, edit facial expressions and convert it to be compatible with iClone motion files, then you will need to have Character Creator 4. While iClone 8 can import character FBX files "as is", CC4 is required for all characterization work.

3rd party source? You mean import any 3d boned character into iclone 8 and add bones to it as the advertisement says.

I say this as What is said in every advert is import any animated model and add more bones and also set those bones to what we wish. but nothing said that you have to own two applications to do this.

That is where my confusion came to be.

So thanks for letting me know before hand.

I think I will wait to buy this as I can not afford two apps just to use one.

You've always needed two applications. Previously, it was 3DXchange and iClone. Now the 3DX functionality has been moved to CC4 as far as importing 3rd party characters is concerned.
