We are delighted to announce the official arrival of the CC to ZBrush Posing pipeline, a fruition of years of development between Maxon and Reallusion. This groundbreaking pipeline comprises two essential plugins: ZBrush Pose Tools(installed in ZBrush) and ZBrush Pose Link(installed in Character Creator). The ZBrush Pose Tools plugin, offered as a standalone free tool, is exclusively designed for ZBrush artists. With a single click, it empowers them to seamlessly switch between different poses while automatically updating all subtools. This “holy grail” workflow sweeps aside the hassles, letting you revel in the joy of character design and visual development.


By combining ZBrush Pose Link with the Pose Tools plugin, artists can now effortlessly achieve the coveted goal of "one character, unlimited poses." How does it work? Firstly, Reallusion's extensive motion ecosystem, including premium mocap animations and handkey toon motions from ActorCore, enables users to easily generate a wide range of poses. Secondly, ZBrush-sculpted models can be auto-rigged in Character Creator using the convenient GoZ workflow. Simply drag-and-drop desired motions onto your ZBrush characters in Character Creator, and marvel at your static models coming to life with countless poses.


Furthermore, the Human IK/FK/Hand controller in Character Creator enables detailed refinements, saving significant time and effort not only in pose editing but also in finger tweaking. To make the most of ZBrush Pose Tools, start by importing existing poses from ZBrush layers. There is the option to import all layers or selectively import hidden layers. These converted layers are labeled with “ccPose_” to maintain synchronization between ZBrush layers and the pose library.

One-Click Posing

The process of updating subtools while adding or switching layers in ZBrush can be quite elaborate. On the other hand, Pose Tools offer a seamless solution by effortlessly transferring and managing poses. Moreover, it automatically refreshes subtools when necessary, streamlining the workflow.
