I’mexperiencing an irritating problem with 3rd party objects. I’ notsure if it’s a bug with the object or something I haven't figuredout yet about navigating the scene. The move gizmo appears too farfrom the object to make fine tune displacements. Initially I have tozoom way out to find the gizmo and then as I zoom in, the gizmodisappears out of frame and I can no longer adjust the placement ororientation of the object.

Isthere any way to move the move gizmo?

The gizmo appears where the object root is. So with third party objects that have their root at a different location, you will have that issue. To fix it:
Select the object in your scene.
scroll down a bit in the modify panel to the "Pivot" section.
Use the quick set box to set the root (pivot) to the lower center of your object.
