Hi Everyone! I am having trouble with face key editor, I click on my actor, choose what I want to move like the head or eyes. I press on the space key like it says.
 and it records what I want. the only trouble is.... when I press the space key for it to stop, it wont stop. sometimes I have to wait 2 mins for it to stop. but sometimes the program just closes down. does anyone else have the same problem. I am using actors that I purchased from reallusion. thanks in advance if anyone has the answer, have a great day, regards vicki

I'm assuming you mean Face Puppet rather than the Face Key Editor. The Face Key Editor doesn't use the Space bar.

Pressing Space in Face Puppet should stop the recording immediately so this is definitely not normal behaviour.

It's possible that the project you are working on is very resource heavy which is causing slowdown in response and instability.

To check if this is the problem, try starting a new project with just one character and then try using Face Puppet to record some facial animation. If this works fine then project size or project complexity is likely the issue.

hi peter, you are right, It is face puppet! sorry about that..... I tried what you suggested. I took the mouse which is a  purchased actor and pressed the space bar to start recording. it does record, but when I press space bar again it wont stop. there is no background, just the actor, nothing else! its got me stumped! thankyou for the help, hope you have a lovely day, best regards, vicki

Thank you for explaining more about the problem.

Please can you try using Face Puppet with one of the default characters such as Ariel or Johnny to see if you still have the same problem. This will help eliminate this particular mouse character being the problem.

5I met problems with the face puppet editor on CTA 4 chars as well. (not yet tested with CTA6 chars) Pushing the space bar at the wrong time makes CTA hang or even worse it wont stop recording, only after a while. Sometimes i was not
even able to close the face puppet editor with the mouse , had to Press ESC for that. (reported this issue to the feedback tracker)

Not shure , i met quite a few issues , i have the feeling CTA is a little quite buggy and/or still in development state.
(i am quite confident though RL will fix all that in future, older products work awesomely well)

Another issue about a missing plugin tab on WIN7 was repoorted to the customer service.

I am running CTA5 on Windows 7. It seems certain or non present VC Runtimes can cause CTA hanging, slowing down etc.
At least after installing 12.0.30501.0 , 11.0.60610.2 and 14.28.29325.2 , both X86 and x64 CTA seems to run way smoother
and i coulnt tell anymore if there is a problem with the spacebar.

You must find them through Google, i installed them from a local device.
(vcredist_x64_14.28.29325) etc.
