Well I've just found out that a character created outside of Character Creator and then imported can't have accessories like cloth or fur bound to the mesh like you can when you import custom made meshes that you want to attach to a a native character. It appears that if you have a character that you created outside of CC and you want to add a mesh so that it shares the weights and so deforms with that character, there is no way to do that within CC.

Is this the case or am I just missing something.

What's the solution, I guess I have to weight and bind everything in my third part software before bringing it into CC?

If so that's a bit annoying as I though the point of CC was that you can quickly swap out costumes and accessories.

Look forward to hearing peoples thoughts.

Hi...

The ability to exchange clothing is only available for Standard CC1, CC3 or CC3+ characters. If you bring in a custom character as a Humanoid (Non-Standard) character then can't mix and match clothing or automatically apply accessories like you can with Standard characters. For Humanoid characters you will need to apply clothing and accessories before importing.

Thanks Peter,

That’s good to know. Do you know if the ability to transfer skin weights into accessories will be something reallusion will implement any time?
