SOLVED : READ BELOW

Hello, i have just installed CTA5 and the webcam profile. I did this several times, with and without "HUB". First CTA5, then the profile.
On my desktop i find a tracker icon, clicking that opens my webcam with the face tracking. Then, when opening CTA5 there is no
plugin in the menu. CTA5 is installed on Drive F: /...  .
Anyone has a solution for this ?

Hi...

You won't see an entry for the Webcam Profile under Plug-ins on the Menu Bar but you should see Motion LIVE 2D. Just open Motion LIVE 2D and then the webcam profile will be listed (as Face3D). Note: There is also a button for Motion LIVE 2D at the right hand end of the top toolbar (see below).

Hello, thanks for the reply. This s what i meant. Neither "Plugins" nor "Motion Live 2D" is visible in the menu. BTW i have tried different installs. An install to the default path didnt help, neither a restored registry which i have saved before the first
Demo install. Everything seems to be in place under /bin64/ ... ( IIRC: Face3D.py or similar). When trying to install the profile before CTA5 it gives me an error CTA5 not found, so mistakely installing before CTA cant be the case.

In Cartoon Animator 4 Motion LIVE 2D was a separate plug-in that had to be installed to show up on the menu bar. However, with Cartoon Animator 5 - Motion LIVE 2D comes included and is installed with CTA5 itself so it should appear in both the plug-ins entry on the menu bar and on the top toolbar by default.

If you don't have these options, then there appears an unusual installation issue that will sadly need further investigation. I see you have already submitted a Support ticket so hopefully the support team will be able to investigate this and resolve the problem for you quickly.

Thanks for your kind help so far.

Unfortunately support wasnt yet able to find a solution so if anyone else has an idea, please let  me know.

What i have done so far:

- removed any Reallusion Software
- Carefully cleaned the registry
- reinstalled all RL Software under a different path
- Support suggested updating Win7, but there are tons of WIN7 updates, installing all of them may ruin other software installations

Open for ideas..

PS: I am using the CTA5  DEMO , Iclone is the Full Version

In hoped the Full Version may solve the problem so i purchased the full version plus the webcam profile.
Unfortunately this didnt help, the plugins are in place (bin64/OpenPlugin), but the problem persits. Iclone 8.22 shows plugin Tab , but no Motion Live Plugin,
CTA 502 still doesnt show the Plugin Tab at all. Cam Tracker is there but because of missing Plugin Tab i cant connect to CTA5.

I have furtheron done some debugging and it seems against Iclone 7 that IC8 and CTA5 do not open (recognize???) the -> main.pyd <- in the corresponding folders. Registry entries seem ok, plugins are in place bin46/OpenPlugin.

SOLUTION


Due to a non present MS Windows 7 SP1 Update plugins are not properly recognized by CTA5.02 and Iclone8.22
KB3063858 is required for the currently used Phyton 3.8 for CTA5 by RL.

Installing this will bring the Plugin Tab back, though you have to make shure that RL HUB is properly installed and no VC Runtimes from 2015 are missing
