I too have lost all my content after upgrading to Iclone 8.2 and CC4.2. You're right Pete, this shouldn't have happened. Every time there is an update something screws up in Iclone. This really sux. I think I have found all my content in a folder under Iclone 7 but I am missing the hand to hand combat animations I was working with recently. Now I am stuck trying to finish my video.Sorry to hear you have also found missing content. This doesn't appear a general bug in the update because the majority of users don't seem to have to lost content when updating.
It may be that the link to your iClone 7 content was lost during the update. However, if the content is still on your hard drive, then please refer to the tutorial below which explains how to re-link iClone 7 content to iClone 8. Hopefully this will resolve the problem for you.
I have no idea why they don't have an Iclone 8 folder for all your stuff but they do not. It took me a while to figure out I that I had to go the Iclone 7 folder to find everything.
You can certainly have all your iClone 8 and CC4 content in one folder which is called "Reallusion Templates". However, this meant when iClone 8 was first installed that you had to re-install all your iClone 7 content again directly into iClone 8. Of course, many users didn't want to have to re-install everything again so we also gave the option to link your iClone 7 and CC3 folders to iClone 8 which seems to be what you did.
If you want to ensure you keep all your iClone 8 and CC4 content in one folder, then it may be wise to remove the link and take the time to install your content directly in iClone 8. You don't need to do this in one go but you can install each pack as you need it. This is what I did and I have not encountered any problems since.
