Because of the time required for testing, the version of the driver offered by the video card manufacturer usually lags behind the version offered by NVIDIA. So if you need the latest driver, use the driver from NVIDIA; the driver from Windows Update.NEVER use Windows update to update a driver. Enabling that may unexpectedly update the driver and mess you up. Instead, check the official Nvidia site: https://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx. Also, especially for laptops, it is prudent to follow the manufacturer's recommendations, unless you want to brick your laptop.

I know I've used the Studio Version in the past - there was some compatibility issue with the non-studio version and iClone at one stage. The studio version worked fine for me. Since I'm still on IC7 (and probably will be for a while yet), I simply don't update my graphics driver any more.

The Studio driver is more mature in the sense that it does not have to support the latest of the latest games. It's often a few versions behind (if you compare versions numbers) but lately it seems to keep up with gaming version. Either driver will always support the latest GPUs.

It really depends on what else you use your computer for. The Studio driver will be fine for iClone and other 3D apps but if you are a gamer then you may prefer to use the game ready drivers. Generally you will not notice any difference with either driver.

studio looks like the way to go so I went with it :)
