I have been going back and forth with tech support for 3 months and they’re just telling me to either uninstall or update your drivers.

Iclone 8 doesn’t work anymore. It started in late October 2022. It doesn’t import fbxs and you can’t transfer from cc4 to iclone 8.  The program  then crashes, every time.

Here is a link to a video. It shows me doing the transfer, iclone 8 freezing up and then crashing. I also verify that I have the current driver installed.  I’m filming it real time and talking through what’s happening.

ICLONE 8 DOES NOT FLICKER, THATS THE AUTO FOCUS ON THE CAMERA DOING THAT! Just wanted to make that part clear.
This is the video I just gave to tech support, the first one, didn’t have sound.

Not that it will solve your problem but  have you updated the 2080's drivers? Have you uninstalled IC8 and re-installed it? I remember I had a very strange issue with CC3 and uninstalling re-installing fix it.
You really need to do those things first so you can rule them out as issues.

I have the newest driver installed, I show that in the video. Yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled iclone 8. That is the only suggestion  anyone at tech support has given in 3 months. Yes, I have tried those thing. Multiple times. It was bricked after the 8.1 update and hasn’t worked since then.

Windows usually records all crash events in the event log. There you should be able to see what DLL or EXE or instruction might be causing the crash. This could be very helpful to find the cause.

Repeat your steps which cause the program to crash, open the Windows Event Viewer, navigate to Windows protocols > Applications (might take a minute to load) and scroll the event list for errors. Click on the error and the details can be found in the textbox below.

I wonder how did you reinstall iClone. Since you sure it broke after 8.1, you could try to follow the updates history to pinpoint a patch which "misbehave" at your computer.
First uninstall both CC and IC.
Then locate RL download folder within the Hub settings and sort files by date.
Next, install a base release for both IC8 and CC4 (from May 2022) and fully test it for avatar transfer. Note: current avatars may not open in the first release of IC4 and CC8. Try older avatars.
And then install pairs of IC/CC patches and test again until you get the problem back. Then you'd know for sure what patch broke it.

This is how my RL download folder looks like (sorted by date).
I highlighted a base IC/CC release and consecutive patches.

Also, the latest NVIDIA drivers might not always be the best. Couple of years back there was a case where latest drivers cause a huge issue in iClone. Some of us had to go back a couple of NVIDIA driver versions back to overcome it.
There could also be an issue not with iClone but with C++ Redistributables which sometimes reinstalled as you install something else on a PC. Sophus offered a good advise to look at the Application Events Log.
Finally, instead of installing Game drivers (GRD), try installing Studio Drivers (SD).
Hopefully you would finally be able to resolve the issue one way or another....

Rashaad.
I am having the same issues.
Not being able to import fbx files and if I try to convert an obj to terrain it stops at 24% on the progress bar and just freezes doing nothing.
Clicking anywhere on the screen or pressing any key fades the screen offwhite giving an error message saying "iclone is not responding" and to either close or wait for it to respond.
I am wondering if any of the suggestions given worked for you.
