Hey everyone,

So I'm working on an Avatar character and have modeled all the armbands/clothing in a separate file using C4D. This modeled to exactly fit the proportions of the CC4 model in the "A" pose. I've exported this as an FBX, to import to CC4 for weighting.

The issue I'm running into is that upon choosing Create>Accessory and selecting my FBX file, the meshes all change position slightly and no longer fit the model:

What's strange is that if I choose the exact same FBX and import it as a prop there are no issues, and the clothing/acc fit the model like they should:

Obviously I need the meshes to be accessories, not props in order to transfer the weights.

I would really appreciate any help or insights here, I have a slight feeling it's because importing as an accessory tries to morph the clothing to match the pose?

Cheers,
Dave

It would have probably matched if the character was in an A-bind pose (but I am not a C4D user so there might be some other factors).

However, the difference between importing prop and accessory is, that accessory would attach to the Hip bone of the character.
But you may easily attach a prop to any bone and then transfer skin weight.
Scroll first tab in Modify for Attach section, click Pick Parent and point/click at any part of the character.
Prop would be converted to an accessory...
