Is anyone using the Cascadeur software in any capacity? I am just curious if anyone has found any use for this software in an iclone based character animation pipeline?

I've had it since the very first beta (almost two years now) and from time to time played with it but not really used it any. My latest idea was to use the release version and "process" the animation I did with the Rokoko thingee (no question about it that the Rokoko generated stuff "floats", so the idea is that Cascadeur might provide "weight" with its physics engine). If I ever get around to doing this I'll post the results. (The other thought I had was ragdoll physics but, again, just haven't had the time to play).

(The other thought I had was ragdoll physics but, again, just haven't had the time to play). Thanks for your input Mike. Yeah I too ran the beta for a while and just downloaded the “full release” but have not bothered to install it yet. I too am only interested in actual Ragdoll collision physics to be exported to Blender as baked FBX and retargeted to my Auto rig pro rigged Daz genesis characters. But have not been able to find any samples of actual Ragdoll collision physics in any of the Cascadeur Showcase videos

Cascadeur doesn't include ragdoll physics. It works differently. You still need to create the basic animation yourself, at least the keyframes for which you can get assistance by the autoposing feature. And then the software will add physics based interpolation by giving each part of the body a certain volume (approximated by ellipsoids) and mass. It will calculate the acceleration and inertia based on the FPS into the base animation, which makes it looking much more realistic and professional. It basically saves the animator 90% of the tedious work.

OK thanks I wont bother installing the full release then. :crying: I only use the human IK Control rigs of Auto rig pro inside Blender It has a powerful retargeter with many built in profiles including Reallusion CC3 rigs imported carrying Iclone motions. the ARP retagerter also supports the simple FBX ragdoll animation from my ancient (Discontinued) Endorphin software. I was hoping for a modern Day replacement for Endorphin which will eventually die forever along with the two old laptops where I have it installed.
