Hey,
after few months with pauses years, I feel still confusion how IClone basic features work. Using reach target, editing animation.

Reallusion has a lot of videos, I've watched many of them trying to find answers... and yes they have special videos on using reach target,
but they feel more like promo videos than tutorials explaining concepts. Good for getting hints what can be done and what some tools can do in general,
but in real production... one needs to tweek, knowing the principles, requirements.

As for Online manual it is the same as reallusion youtube tutorials.. some information but not much.

For example "Flatten all motion with contraints" I have not even found mentioned in the manual.
So many things with trial and error I found some workflow steps... but usually  I find some hurdle and  no information about how to use it or where might be the problem.
This specific command Flatten all motion did something I was expecting - baking the animation, so there will be no strange mentions about Spring preventing  me doing Motion layer edit (even no spring is present at that specific timeline frame)
But it deleted ALL visime audio tracks... without any obvious reason, because audio has nothing to do with 3D animation.

This is more like a rant than expecting there is some good resource for learning IClone, but if anyone would know some resources... ideally video tutorials

For example now I want to change movement of the CC character arm. Hand to stay at that place longer.
But when I create keys on some later frame... just copy pasted the previous key frame...
1. Hand at keyed frame 1 is in position where I want. Great
2. Next frames hand goes somewhere ... why?
3. Hand at keyed frame 2 is in position where I want. Great

So I'm looking where is information for (2) .. where is information that instruct hand to go somewhere. It's nowhere.. No keyframes on timeline. No data in Curve editor.

Then I remembered... this is one of things they don't mention in tutorials.. One needs sampling motion clip is needed.
Ah. ok. I did sample motion clip ...
And still no movement data to be found in Curve editor for any part of the body..

Also why Curve editor is zoomed out so much, that maximum value is 500000 ? No such large values are used anywhere..
So all curve editor data sometimes is sometimes this zoomed out..
When clicking on one of the keypoints Edit box value says it has value "0.0000".. ok so it's zero. Every keypoint said zero. So where is that arm movement coming from?

So usually my workflow with iClone is 95% trying to figure out to unstuck myself from some UI/usage puzzle.
It has interesting features to do rather complex stuff but usually some more simple changes are blockers for hours :-) So my experience is very ambivalent.. a lot of contrary extreme feelings.

I think in their youtube videos, they should do more than hype about how new "hand lock" can do cool animations being dragged in the wind with the hand firmly staying on it's position,
and do more explaining it ... in their video tutorial it was covered just for few seconds to show how quickly can it be done.. but one usually doesn't have clean project.. with various motions already applied and explanation "just do XY and voala you are done" doesn't provide explanation how it actually works. Not just to show one specific example.

And I don't want be only negative.. native Reallusion tutorials are sometimes more thourough.. showing sometimes at least specific practical more lengthy usage examples
But sometime I feel lost. And not sure where to look.. or even how to formulate the search :)

This topic reminds me, there are some instructional videos sold separatelly by Reallusion .. are they any good? And are they up to date?

Well, you have the right about IC8 online manual, for example, there's a tiny icon :
75% of original size (was 675x19) - Click to enlargehttps://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/db9e1aa8-b626-41b3-ba2d-dca5.png
somebody asked here in the forum about, it has no tip bubble when hovering on it. When another user replied and explained its role as a timeline object pin.. I searched throughly inside the manual about anything pin.. Nothing at all comes regarding this misterious icon.
Not only you many of us has to discover and figure out some fonctions of IC as alot of them not mentioned neither in the manual nor RL YouTube channel.

Ok, I felt it would be more broader feeling.
At least tooltip would be helpful for that.
It's complex stuff... so any help... is  helpful :)
