So I've tested to export character from cc4 as FBX then open it in blender using the cc add on. I can't do any changes to the character in blender because then in cc4 the character won't load any textures ? If I change hair color (via the cc add onsliders) or sculp the mesh, the character is just pure white without textures when opened in cc4. I thought the cc4 blender pipeline was supposed to make it possible that I can adjust the mesh in blender and hair color and then import the sculped / re textured character back into cc4 like in the demo video but seems this is not possible.

This is a long shot, but have you checked the texture control setting? .... Only with this setting "on" will the textures be visible (had me stumped for a while).

That only change the material in blender and is intended to be used in blender and also doesn't effect the fbx export file when opened back in cc4 so no go.
Also I forgot to mention that I can't export the character from blender using the cc add on. I don't have the export option available so I use blenders own fbx export. Also seems that I loose face tracking as well since the mouth isn't moving when I test it in cc4 via the animation / talk animation. Walkin works, but that's it.

@Duude ".... That only change the material in blender and is intended to be used in blender ....'' You're right - (my bad) @Duude ".... I can't export the character from blender using the cc add on ..... I use blenders own fbx export ...."Without going via the "Export to CC3/4 tab" in Victor's Blender routine, I'm surprised you could get the avatar back into CC4, since wouldn't it prompt you for an "FBX Key"? Exporting natively out of Blender wouldn't link the FBX Key data. To get the round trip to work properly, you need to export your sculpted avatar through Victor's CC/IC Pipeline add-on. Then you need to bring it back into CC through Victor's "Blender Auto Setup" CC plugin. That way the FBX key is taken care of. @Duude ".... I don't have the export option available ...."Do you mean no export "tab" (in Blender) on the CC/IC Pipeline add-on?

Without going via the "Export to CC3/4 tab" in Victor's Blender routine, I'm surprised you could get the avatar back into CC4, since wouldn't it prompt you for an "FBX Key"? Yes actually it asked that in a pop up window, but I don't know what that means. Do you mean no export "tab" (in Blender) on the CC/IC Pipeline add-on? Yes that is exactly what I ment, but seems it wasn't enabled since because I hadn't choose the mesh from blenders collection so it works Now the final problem is that I can't get the victors pluging to show in the CC4 / Plugins options. I did everything like in this video, but it doesn't show up. the part to install blender add on into CC4 Plugins options starts from 8:25 https://youtu.be/wYH7ofQ1kVs?t=505

OK, so you * un-zipped the folder from Victor's github page and pasted it into the path Reallusion\Character Creator 4\Bin64\OpenPlugin ?* used the CC4 version? - not the one for CC3? Also - there's this info on the CC4 github page: Known IssuesBy default the FBX export settings have embed textures switched on, but this makes the export incompatible with re-importing the character back into CC4 as the textures are hidden in the original fbx and are not accessible to the file system. Always turn off embed textures.

I don't know if there's CC4 version I thought there is only 1 version and yes I did the OpenPlugin folder under the Bin64 folder where I then unzipped the "cc_blender_tools-main" folder. Also I did tunr of embed textures and some other option as shown on the video, but the problem isn't that the problem is that I don't even have the blender option in CC4 under the plugin tab like in the video so I can't import my character back like that.

Duude (12/8/2022) and yes I did the OpenPlugin folder under the Bin64 folder where I then unzipped the "cc_blender_tools-main" folder.
That is not what you should be unzipping there... Delete whatever is there now. This is for CC4: https://github.com/soupday/CC4-Blender-Tools-PluginAfter you install and restarted CC4, you export and import to/from Blender from CC4 Plug-in menu and care less about any export settings. (Except for the case when you need to export with Face Blend Shapes Sequence or with Motions). Update.. just upgraded to the latest version and it's now opening up a new, more sophisticated menu on Export...

If I've got it clear in my head, at the time of posting: There's 2 distinctly different files to Victor's complete round trip form CC to Blender to CC. The larger file (an Add-On for installing in Blender) is titled cc_blender_tools on Victor's github page. There's only the one, so it doesn't matter if you're using CC3 (includes iClone 7) or whether you're using CC4 (includes iClone 8). The smaller file (a Python Plug-in for installing in CC) is titled CC3-Blender-Tools-Plugin (if you own CC3), and CC4-Blender-Tools-Plugin (if you own CC4) - as displayed on Victor's github page. The actual zip file "labels" are: cc_blender_tools-main - to install in Blender and is over 1MB) CC3-Blender-Tools-Plugin-main (for CC3), and CC4-Blender-Tools-Plugin-main (for CC4) - (to install in CC and is small, just KB) Victor's Github Page: here:

Seems I had the old plugin (cc3) on the bin64 I now have the new CC4 and blender now shows on CC4 pluging list. I also tried to instal via the .exe file, but my f-secure bloked it so I downloaded the zip instead and unzipped it to the right location C:\Program Files\Reallusion\Character Creator 4\Bin64\OpenPlugin\CC4-Blender-Tools-Plugin-1.1.2
I did 3 different export imports and none of them worked.
1. First try I Opened my character in CC4 and exported it as FBX (All / Character / Prop / Camera) from the CC4 export menu not blender add on menu Choose Blender as target and exported
Opened the character in blender from cc add on import. Everything imported ok I then did nothing to the character and selected the character which is made from camila template so it says camila and all I get is non standard export choise from the cc4 add on in blender and when I try to export blender just freezes so that didn't work. ------------------
2. Second try (4u2ges way) I then went back to CC4 and made new export, but this time like 4u2ges suggest by using the blender add on in CC4 and export through that so I did that and didn't change anyhting just exported. Open it on blender and everything was ok. I made few tweaks via sculp and used the blender add on to go into and out from sculp mode so I didn't choose sculp mode from blenders options, but the CC4 add on. Then choose all the imported stuff from the blenders scene window and got the "Export to CC3/4" option and exported with the new name that is that the add on pluging / blender added _export end of the name. Then opened this new exported file in CC4 via the blender add on import.
Asset import Status Report wass all Pass press ok and after CC4 had done it's import thing none of the changes I made in blender in sculpt mode was not imported and also the pose was different than in blender. In blender pose was A pose and in CC4 it was I don't know what, but more hands down pose.
I tried 2 times and it didn't work. ------------------
3. Third try (like in the video I posted earlier)
I open my character in CC4 I use the CC4 normal FBX export like in the video time @3:40
Imported character via the add on made few sculp tweaks, enterin and exiting via the cc add on got the export shown as CC3/4 and exported and again blender added the _export to the end of the title. then opened it in the CC4 via the blender add on import like in the video got all Pass on the Asset pop up window but again no sculp changes was added and again the pose was wrong
So 3 ways I tested after I had installed the right CC4 pluging and none of them worked.
