Coming from a Poser background it's fairly easy to drag and drop attachments/parents.
I "thought" it was pretty easy here, until today.
I created a new project using the Christmas Tree Iprop.
Nifty, but not lit.
So, I created 5 cylinders of different colors with a glow to be used as bulbs. Meh. Not bright enough even with a glow max and self illumination maxxed.
Then, I attached a point light to each and it allowed me to control the light color and the range/radius. Perfect.
Attaching the point light to the bulb was easy. Then I wanted to attach the bulbs, to the tree so I could save the LIT tree as 1 prop.
I8 won't let me attach the lights to the tree. Don't know why.
Also, is there a way to save the "collection" of prop with bulbs/lights?

Thanks!

You can always just save the scene and using iclone merge scene to load anything you want

That was a great tip. Thank you.
Still had the problem of the lights not attaching to the tree so I made a ball prop, attached them to it. Since they retain their position I could then slide the ball to the tree and they were all placed again. Then I hid the ball and had a lit Christmas Tree! Woohoo.
I'm guessing they couldn't attach to the tree because it was sort of "special" prop? They attached to the ball easily and perfectly.
So many more mysteries of Iclone, but that merge trick, I didn't even know it existed.
Thanks again,

Maxx

If you're using the Speedtrees...they are a different animal altogether and don't behave like anything else in iClone;)

Honestly, I don't know what type of tree it is. I just searched for a Christmas Tree and there it was.
It doesn't even show up in Iray Renders!
Thank you for helping.
