Just a rant: Nothing seems compatible with anything.

You can purchase content in the marketplace, has those nifty icons, tell you what is included. Truth is, as a user and supporter of content creators, i'm lost.

Purchase this or that "this is not compatible with that character." Now what, you're stuck with something that you can't use.
You don't have that much content to begin with. Imported stuff, other than props never seems to work very well without a ton of work. "That character is not in a t-pose" Well it was!

I think I8 and CC4 are great programs,  but I just want to use them. I don't want to have to convert, fix, adjust, fix, morph, give up.

What I needed I found was available for free in IC5, which I owned, but is no longer availble. Huh? I can go back years with other programs and download the content from my account.

I just want to animate stories. I don't want to create clothing, or props, or backgrounds, or terrain, or models or body capture animations. I don't mind paying for it, and have bought stuff i'll never use simply because "its not compatible" with that character or whatever.

Just my two cents.

Thanks for the feedback.

Generally each product page should state the requirements clearly. It is important to read the requirements carefully before purchase to limit mistakes being made.

Can you give an example of the problems you are encountering so we can better understand the problem. For example, is the issue related to derivative content (that requires other base products to work)?

Sure!
I was looking for a Skeleton model with working facial bones.
I purchased Skeleton 2.0. Can only move the jaw. Nice model, limited.
Then I thought I would get a Zombie, thinking it would have more facial bones to animate. Wrong again.
Then I bought a base robe, thinking I would just add bones to the face of skele 2, once I became proficient... If ever.
Tried robe on Skele, erp, nope. Not compatible.
Tried on a few others, erp.
I also tried importing working Poser models with animatable facial bones via morphs. Forget that.
Yes, you are correct, you have to read carefully. My fault, I'm sure.
Still, I'm not an expert. I don't know what works with what and the details displayed by Icons, tell me nothing. I'm a noob.
A lot of the times the videos don't work or are no longer available on models.
There is a content store and a marketplace. Makes no sense.
I found through help in the forum there was a model in I5 (which I own) which included what I was looking for but is no longer available. Huh? If I paid for 5 and up, shouldn't it still be available?
I8 and cc4 are amazing, don't get me wrong, but unless you're middle range or expert, you'll be stumbling around trying to find content that works, unless you accept whatever they are wearing.
I'm still learning, but this is like photoshop on steroids and you guys know too much to dumb it down for beginners. (Even the tutorials assume you know what they are doing adding an image here or there, not mentioning it has to be PNG for transparency.  (The floating dust tutorial))
I even tried contacting a creator, asking if a model did what I needed. He was kind enough to respond, but now I'm afraid to buy anything. Not good for your content business.
Anyway, thanks for the response. I'll go take my meds now and calm down.

I feel you.
What's even worse is that Reallusion's own content on the marketplace (or content store... it's all just such a mess, i still can't figure out the "system" behind it) doesn't get updated. I recently purchased the Toon Characters pack, which was released way before CC4. I was quite baffled that CC4 told me that the toon skin and certain sliders don't work on my character since it's CC3+ (or not CC3+, can't remember and it's all so confusing). My workaround had me working on some sliders, then bake the bugger (which of course means i can't access / adjust the initial toon sliders) and only then work on the skin and other sliders. Maybe I should have started with the right character model (CC3 or CC3+), but hey, if one starts with a CC4 preset character (which totally makes sense and should be expected), tweaks a whole load of shabang, it's "mildly" infuriating to have official content tell the user that they can't continue due to compatibility issues. Moreover, those outdated assets on the store that expect you to work with CC3 are still prized the same as always. I'm baffled by this audacity, really.

Skeleton 2.0 is Legacy content (indicated by a Legacy icon) meaning it is an older character type not compatible with Character Creator content.

If you want your characters to be able to mix and match clothing from your CC library, and use all the features of Character Creator, then always check the characters are CC1, CC3 or CC3+ characters. Non- Standard character types like the Skeleton can be used in iClone 8 but can't be further customized in Character Creator. You have to use them as is.

Can you post a link to the Toon Character pack you purchased. Most recent toon packs are all fully compatible with Character Creator 4 so we would like to check what the issue is with the characters you purchased.
