Hi, i have placed 16 ActorCore / ActorScan characters into a scene (going to try to live-link it). Then i created 3 paths and aligned the characters to different paths and positions. I also used various MD presets and modified them a little bit. However, there is a lot of foot sliding. Is there anything i can do to reduce the sliding? I mean, i can only set the start point for the paths, but not the speed at which the characters follow it. Hey, that would be the solution! If i only could change the speed at which the character follows the path. Or is there any (easy) solitution for this problem PS: I have to use minimal settings because MD is otherwise really slow https://www.reallusion.com/FeedBackTracker/Issue/Motion-Director-follow-path-mode-needs-a-speed-setting-option

You should be able to create your own paths with MD. You can save a MD animation by collecting clip and save as an rlmotion. Then adjust the speed of the new rlmotion faster or slower. Then you collect clip again and save the new fast and slow walking animations. You can use those new path animations anytime. You can also use different hand gestures for your walking characters, so they would not be all the same. I think creating paths is old stuff. I hope this helps you. I thank God for helping me. You highlight the speed arrow and grab the end of clip by shortening clip for faster motion, and longer clip for slower motion. And when you collect clip you left click mouse and drag the blue bar to end of motion, then you are creating a new fast and slow animation for your motion library.

@Michael: In Motion Director (which is new in iClone 8) paths are used to guide characters in various ways, so they are still relevant. The motions are dynamic in the sense that characters can avoid obstacles or each other, deviating from the path if needed. @3Dtester: I haven't done much with MD, but I don't remember seeing foot sliding. Hopefully there is an easy solution.

With the game controller and MD, you can step over objects, turn left or right, and stop to avoid objects. I only used the trial version of IC8. You can turn around a corner using MD, and you can stop whenever you want to, then keep going. Here is a video of my character in the trial version of IC8. I used my Logitech F310 game controller to move the character.

@Michael: Thanks a lot for your explanation and example. I see that it works well, and without foot sliding when we use the controller input to navigate the character around. I surely could do the same, but since i am trying to populate a crowd, i don't want to delegate, animate and record each single character, because this would take so much time that i would likely lose the fun. That's why i used the follow path option.
@Animagic: There is usually not much foot-sliding with MD i guess, as long as you move them over short distances. Unfortunately, the path follow option, even it can change animation modes (idle, perform), does not have the ability to control the speed of the movement along the path.
@Toystorylab Thanks in advance, take your time! Meanwhile i continue the project without a crowd.
