Hello, I often spend time to animate manually in iClone 8 and sometimes I'm wondering why we can't get a feature like in "Poser Pro 2012" where we can grab a body part of the character on the screen, and just slide in a direction to make follow all the body part of the body naturally. For example, I grab the right arm of the character directly on the screen to the ground, and all the other body part of the character are following naturally the direction. Then it's just adjustements to make a crouch position but it allow to earn so much time! In the technical field I don't know in which category it could be, but I guess it's about a "bones parent" feature. This problem is more noticeable on objects like chains where we must move manually every bones one by one and spend so much hours for a good animation.
I hope my english is understable, thank you for reading.

Hi if you want to manually pose a Character into squatting position etc, you really need to learn to use the edit motion layer features of iclone.
These Iclone features are light years ahead of the vestigial animation tools of Poser.

Hello and thank you for your answer,
Oh, of course I know the basics animations (I use the software since iClone 7). Maybe I didn't explain myself very well because of my english and also because of my wrong example. I'm sorry for that. The best example is for chains/ropes with bones where we are forced to select bones by bones to animate correctly. What I meant with "Poser Pro 2012", it's the fact we can select a bones, and the others follow naturally. Even for characters with fingers for example. I could select the top of the thumb, and the other articulations followed correctly.
And I agree, iClone is better in animation than Poser Pro, that's why I migrated. But there are few small details that I can miss like this one (and the fact we can't change the size of a character in the timeline but it's an other subject :D )

iClone 8 already has Direct Puppet which works the way you describe. You can open it be selecting Direct Puppet from the Animation tab of the Modify Panel.

Thank you for your answer Peter,
I often use "Direct Puppet" and I love that feature which is close to what I describe indeed. But I will try to make a video example, I think I'm very confused in my explanations.
