hey gang... i was trying to get my makehuman characters into ue5 via the livelink plug-in, but cant figure out what im doing wrong if anything, if its a problem w/ nonstandard figures, or has something to do with makehuman... i tried a makehuman figure that had the rig reworked via the new auto rig feature in cc4, i tried a rig that was generated with the new accurig tool, and i even tried a reworked figure via 3dxc, but none worked... all 3 methods gets a working rig for ic8, but the rig is not working in ue5...

i know its a longshot asking here as there are a lot of variables for that equation to work, but if anyone has any ideas, advice or suggestions, many thanks in advance.

just to note, the accurig yields a rig that is much "smoother" in motion, but slight issue in the hands...

also, could someone explain the pros vs cons of using livelink as opposed to old skool import? ive only used the livelink method and have only loaded characters into ue5s 3rd person sample scene. do we have to or are we limited to using only unreal rigs?

I figured after a few updates, check back in to see if it was fixed, but still, sending a custom character to unreal via livelink does NOT work. figure was rigged. tests great in iclone8, but inside unreal doesnt seem to take the skeleton. if youve gone thru the process, that moment when you switch the rig and it "snaps" to the unreal figure skeleton doesnt happen. no error, no warning, just nothing =/

any help would be greatly appreciated.

and before i go on, were we even to expect that custom characters rigged w/ accurig work with the livelink to unreal?

You can only live link CC4 Characters or Meta Humans.
If you transform DAZ Character to a CC4 , that works too.
You need a CC4 Skeleton in IClone and a Mannequin or Meta Human Skeleton in UE for Live Linking , as far as I know.

Actually, this plugin was developed and AccuRig feature came to CC4.
I hope there will be an update in the future so that we can run the characters we retargeted using AccuRig with the Live link.
For now, we can run it by exporting as fbx.
