Regardless how much I love some of its new features, IC8 has HUGE problems with animation

Does the root jump during the animation? Cutting clips might have cause it to. Before flattening try re-sampling the root. If you have the gizmo selected when scrub, you can see how the root moves.

It broke in 8.02. There was no problem in 8.01. Flattening ANY clip would result in.. I do not even know what to name it.... Bring ANY character, apply ANY motion and then flatten it and see what would happen. Damn! It needs an immediate attention...

Thanks for advice, Rampa! Unfortunately, didn't work. No, there were no root jumps after cutting. Now I watched a bit more carefully, seems the flattening removed legs' animation from hip, they remain in the same position, only toes are moving a bit at one time, lol

@4u2ges I observed also other things, I will make some demos/videos and open issues on FeedbackTracker: - sometime the gizmo world rotate doesn't work - you rotate it but dont move. You have to use local rotate or move in order to work. Happened on both props and avatars. - removing shoes from an animated avatar heavily distort the animation (sliding, trembling, direction change). It's like the shoes has a bone part of the avatar. - look-at trembles and jumping and jolting in sudden moves, especially when the look-at is close to avatar. To me looks (lol) like in IC8 the look-at is at an exact, geometric, point, while in IC7 it was at a zone, some tolerance.

Ahh, OK. Those are annoying effectors, which are turned ON every time you start Animation Editor. Sometimes I have to disable them 3-4 times before they are OFF permanently during the session. But now they are written on the very first frame of the clip when you flatten it. Current temporary workaround after flattening, is to delete 2 keys at the first frame of the clip for L/R Leg > IK/FK Blend You can delete them simultaneously by deleting the main key "head". Clip would be restored to normal after that.

And regarding Rotation Gizmo. Is your camera Orthogonal or Perspective? I always had that problem with Orthogonal camera, where it randomly stops Movement/Rotation (since iClone 7 actually). But never seen it with Perspective Camera. If it is doing it with Perspective, then it's something new
