Hi James

Unfortunately that particular thread started with virtualfilmer speculating on the meaning of the wording changes in the EULA, but by the end there were new users joining the thread who were treating the speculation as facts. This led to many rule breaks including threats and insults all based on nothing but speculation.

Discussing the EULA is fine but making claims based on what you "think" the word changes means is not good for anyone which is why I closed the thread.

However, if there comes a time when changes are made to the Mass Distribution License and the export of content for games, then it will be announced on the forum. Then everyone will be free to discuss it (providing they stick to the forum rules).

Peter, I see that some (but not all) parts of the thread are back. However the thread has been closed - does this mean that RL is not permitting any more discussion of the changes to the EULA on the forum? Or have I misinterpreted the situation?

Sorry PeterRL if I broke any rules! It looks like the thread is back and the core of it is still there so that’s good 😀

I think the difficulty is perhaps that it’s a complex and vague topic, and we should have all been asking QUESTIONS of RL rather than interpreting for ourself what RL meant in their language.🤓

Thanks Peter and RL team for putting the thread back, so at least people can read the issues it raised, and I’m looking forward to future clarification from RL. Again, I’m a big RL fan and I think this is all a language / clarification issue.

😊😊

Well I'm relieved to hear that the thread will be back, though looking through these rules it's not immediately evident to me which were broken.

In any event, I'm looking forward to continuing the conversation.

Normally when people break the forum rules. However, please see the Terms section of the Forum Rules for more detailed explanation.

BTW the thread you refer to was not removed. It was sent back to the moderation queue for review and clean-up due to rule breaking.

As some people may have noticed, a thread in this forum regarding recent changes to the EULA has been deleted. In the past, I've also noticed other threads which disappeared.

My question is: what is the criteria for deleting threads?
