Yesterday I decided to render some of my ongoing projects in IC8, It takes a while to migrate into 8 and it works without to many Issues.
I have a large tavern scene which I wanted to try with new lighting, it is quite large and is 2.5 million polys and 1.89Gb file. It has 13 characters and 252 props, it is optimised to run reasonably smooth (No 4k Textures and shared tex wherevever possible).

On updating some lights in!C8 it took approx 8 mins for the colour swatch to open, it did it twice and the second time I timed it, then the project crashed with the normal exception occurred, it would not restore.
I had saved it prior as it was becoming laggy and went back to the saved IC8 file and found it to be over 8Gb. Various tests pointed to bloated motion size and I did some tests.
You can see the tests results here:

You can see that a 21Mb just under 2min motion went from 21Mb in IC7 to 191Mb when it was baked into IC8, i have 13 characters all with differing motions and this has bloated a workable large file from 1.89Gb to an 8GB file.
I did various test and a wandering MD motion that when saved came in at 128Mb. I also tested a single Mocap online motion saved out in IC7 and IC8 that was 6725KB and saved out at 81Mb, ( IC7 did it at just over 8Mb),I tried half compress and full compress and this took it down to 51MB.
I can't see how this is realistically usable file size for something with 13 characters. I don't think this is a bug and it's how it is designed because of the new motion system.
I optimise my projects by using lower texture files and my background chars are about 30Mb so i can have more in the scene, but this seems a bit pointless have Low LOD background char with a 150Mb motion file.
Just wondering what others have experienced and their opinions on such huge file sizes.( BTW it didn't affect my FPS in IC8 I was actually getiing a slightly higher frame rate and I know that using to many props has a drastic effect on performance but it worked fine in IC7).
