Hello. I am new to Character Design and was attracted to the features Character Creator 3 had to offer.  However, I am a bit concerned that it suggests more functionality on the trial than what I would get upon purchase.  Features such as Headshot, for example.  Are these features included in the overall purchase price or will I have to buy add-ons to activate them?  Sudden a $300-400 purchase becomes a $500-700+ and I want to avoid any surprises.

I am looking for product info to research for myself but so far have had no real luck.

Can anyone give me the deets before I purchase something I might not even be able to use for my goals?
Cheers

Hi...

Headshot is an add-on Plug-in in both the trial version and the full version. It can be purchased separately at a later date or you can purchase a bundle containing both like the "Character Creator 4 Essential Bundle With Headshot Plug-in" found on the store page below.

Do you know if you have to repurchase headshot all over again if you own cc3 and headshot and want to move to cc4?

No, the Headshot Plug-in for CC4 is a free upgrade if you already own it for CC3.

I looked at it! Unless for iClone 8 and CC4 together are not more than $400 to $450 it is not worth it. So it is up to RL, they have mistreated good long-term customers. It very sad but true Sad(

I also have the same question but about IClone 8 and CC4.  Just what is included in these programs.  I see that there are several add-ons, but some do not have prices associated with them - because they are included in IClone 8 or CC4?  And also there seem to be reduced functionality with some of these add-on plug-ins with the availability of purchasing plugs-ins that offer additional functionally.  I am new to IClone and CG in general, and are using the trial version right now - less than 1 week into the trial - and are trying to figure out just what to buy and when to buy plug-ins that I might need.  I am most likely purchasing the bundle that includes IClone8 and CC4.  Future purchases might include the Hair and Beard Plug-in, the SkinGen plug-in, perhaps Popcorn FX, and maybe some of the others I have seen on the store site.  I am not interested in going beyond the bundle of IClone 8 + CC4 yet as I will have my hands full with the learning curve for just these two and also there are budget concerns yet I would like to see a list of features included with IClone 8 and CC4 so I determine a road map for future purchases.  I do not seem to see anywhere on RealIllusion websites a comprehensive list of what is included in these two software products.   Thank you for any information anyone can supply.

Hi...

If you are using the trial versions then the features contained in the trial will be available in the full version. Of course if you have installed any trial plug-ins then these will require separate purchase.

Features like SkinGen and Smart Hair are included with CC4 with a basic selection of content. You can then expand your content by purchasing other SkinGen and Smart Hair add-on packs. The SkinGen Premium Plug-in allows you to bring in your own custom assets but is optional and not essential to use SkinGen in CC4.

Basically all Plug-ins will require additional purchase and will not be included in the base version of iClone 8 or CC4. The only exceptions to this are the Curve Editor, 3DXchange and Motion LIVE as these are now incorporated into iClone 8 and CC4. Motion LIVE mocap profiles still require separate purchase.

I hope this helps a little. If you have questions about specific features, please let us know.

Thank you, Peter, your answer was very helpful.  Am looking forward to discovering all I can do with IClone and its associated products and content.  It is a very exciting product and I can't wait to dive in deeper.  I will be buying IClone 8 and CC4 within the next few weeks, want to experience with the trial versions 1st but I have no doubts in going forward with the purchase.
