How does the workflow from Xsens mocap solution work?. Do I need the MVN Animate software, or does the Xsens data transfer direct into Iclone?

You need MVN Animate Basic at minimum. That allows you to process the mocap data and export as an FBX file. You can then use import into IClone from there and apply to your characters. The easier way is to live record into IClone, but as I discovered, you need to have MVN Animate Plus (which is about 3,000 a year from Xsens), plus motion live from IClone and the Xsens mocap profile from IClone to go with it. I'm not 100% sure about IClone 8, but in 7 they were all additional costs. I think you may get motion live included with iClone 8 by default.

XSens is by far the best inertial suit around, but you do need a lot of pieces to get it to work.

I've been able to import XSens via FBX using the MotionBuilder profile and the XSens Puppet TPose.

Sorry if this is a dumb question -- where do you find the MotionBuilder profile? My 3D Exchange presets only include Max Biped, Maya and Daz4 Genesis. 

Is there a tutorial or documentation anywhere on best practices? Ive looked everywhere I could think of, but haven't found anything yet.
