I have used the Live Face App with the Motion Live Plugin for facial animation. There were some weird neck motions in the middle, and I want to remove those, and smooth other things in general.
How do I edit or refine the motions? Can I use the curve editor plugin to do this?
Thanks.

Anyone have any idea how to edit the animation or motion from live face facial capture?

Thanks for your response, I appreciate your answer and the video reference! However, I'm specifically asking about facial capture animation from live face. How does one edit facial mocap from live-face now, if at all?

(The point in the video timeline you referenced shows the curve editor that does exist as a plugin for iclone 7. And the video is showing a curve adjustment of the body, not imported facial mocap, so it's hard to say whether iclone 8 would address this or not.)

This character has a facial mocap and currently with Iclone 7 you can only edit blenshapes with the Face key which creates a keyframe in the timeline.
But there is only one track for all the muscles. you can have a setting with the transition curve preset.
What is certain is that for the moment the curve editor plugin does not manage blendshapes.

Regarding the WIP video I posted I assume (but above all I hope) that the curve editor includes in Iclone 8 will allow us to manage all the blendshapes of a facial mocap
by (maybe) applying a "sample track" to make all the keyframes accessible. This is what I understand in the video.

Thank you for your response!

So you're saying, once one brings in facial mocap data through live-face, THEN they can open up the face puppet tool (or whatever it's called) in order to edit blendshapes with the Face key?

I really appreciate your detailed post. Is this also called out in any of Reallusion's official documentation? I originally assumed that Reallusion themselves or Peter would respond with a precise area of help text or the manual where this is covered.

Yes.

with a precise area of help text or the manual where this is covered

This is the face key page of the user manual:
https://manual.reallusion.com/iClone_7/ENU/Content/iClone_7/7.9/08-Animation/Facial-Animation/The-Settings-Relations-in-Muscle-Expression-and-Modify-Tabs.htm

I suggest you to explore the Reallusion youtube channel . There's lot of tutorial wich cover the majority of the Iclone function. Just type in the search some key word on the Video tab.
