Hi, after exporting the character to fbx and importing it into Maya, we realised that she's floating, 11 cms above the floor.
I can't figure out how to fix this in Character Creator. I can't even figure out how to display the floor.

there are several ways a default pose / position can be off -  ie if the character was once wearing high heels and the default pose was higher off the floor to reflect that -  this can be coded into the character even after shoes are taken off...

I suggest checking the manual for the different ways to adjust it -  there's floor contact settings,  setting default pose,  then another panel for setting default pose for shoes - possibly more that i've yet to discover lol

Hi...

Do check that your Transform settings on the Modify Panel in CC3 are set to 0,0,0. If they are not, just click Reset (Zero Out).

But if the problem continues, try opening Advanced Settings on the FBX Export Panel (see image below) and then put a check in Zero Motion Root.

"Zero Motion Root" does not help. Very annoying problem for which I have an FT ticket opened (still not Assigned). If anyone knows other fix, please post it.

Certainly there has to be a way to lower an FBX rig in Maya.

I export FBX to BLENDER all of the time and place my characters up on raised platforms or below the  Blender floor plane to interact with sets&props.

There is no solution to fix in it CC as character standing firmly on the ground here. You can verify that by hitting Gtrl+G which enables floor grid.
But you can also verify whether or not a character would be raised/sunk when you export it by clicking "Adjust Bones".

And as I said, the only solution, is to fix it outside of CC (in the link I posted it is a Blender solution) and then you may import character back to CC.
Now you may export character anywhere and it would stay on the ground with Motion Root Z=0. It is even easier fix if you have Blender Autosetup for CC3 scripts installed.

Try this:

Pose your character in the pose you wish, either from the library or or using the pose tools.
In the FBX panel, select your preset (Blender, Maya, etc.)
Choose "Mesh And Motion".
Select "Current Pose" in the animation section.
Export.

if  a two second adjustment on the Y axis , in Maya is an unacceptable " work around"?
