So I followed this guide here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1O7JuHzvJs.

And it worked the first time. 

But now I made a new project and every time I go to do the same thing, load an FBX exported out by Daz as instructed it asks for an FBX key. 
Basically any time I go to load an FBX it wants key. What key? Do I need to buy? I'm on trial and managed only one FBX import and 1 FBX export (which made no key). 

Not a very good first impression via this trial. 

The tutorial is for using Transformer so I'm guessing the first time you correctly used Transformer to import your Daz character, and the second time you wrongly used "Import FBX" instead of using Transformer. Just make sure you use Transformer to import the Daz character and you shouldn't run into any problems.
