So this is my first time really messing around with Iray, despite having owned it for a few months. I did a render of a model and this is how the model looks in the CC3 viewport: 76% of original size (was 660x19) - Click to enlarge Notice that her eyes are PURPLE. This is how she looks in the Iray Preview window: 76% of original size (was 660x19) - Click to enlarge And her eyes are now blue. Why did her eyes change color?? I mean Iray does make the model look different - in a GOOD way - but the eye color is weird. I want her eyes to be purple.

Iray does not deal with DH materials. Non of its features are transparent to Iray. So you have to change the texture for the eye (Std_Eye_L/Std_Eye_R) material as well so that Iray renders it properly.

Thank you. So, I did some research and I found there are LOTS of threads about Iray rendering eyes in Character Creator and it seems to be quite a mess - or at least very confusing. I'm going to go through those threads - I have one bookmarked - and see if that will help as well because they go into a lot of detail. That being said, the OVERALL sense that I got from those threads is that Iray doesn't integrate into CC very well. I know that when I did a render of my character it was very clean and crisp in some places, but overall she looked more plastic than she did in the viewport. Now I am a newbie to Iray and I haven't messed around with all of the options and I DON'T regret buying Iray, but it isn't very easy to use and it doesn't seem to produce the crystal clear, stunning renders that I thought it would. I mean I shouldn't have to spend three hours in the program and consult multiple threads to get eye color correct. I am hoping that CC4 corrects that integration with Iray. Anyway, I'm just writing these comments to keep them fresh as I see some of the older posts still have very relevant info.

Coming to CC3 from DAZ Studio, I bought into the iRay plugin expecting great things but as you say, it's a bit clumsy and poorly integrated in CC. It took me a while but I'm now getting better results using the built-in renderer than I ever managed to get with the iRay plugin. Like you, fingers crossed for improvements in IC8/CC4.
