I just bought a new computer with an nVidia RTX 3090 and Windows 11 Pro. I can't seem to find what kind of drivers I have. In the device manager, it says I have version 472.08. In the nVidia control panel it says I have version 30.0.14.7208. I No mention of Studio or Game versions. I'm confused.
The driver information, Studio or Game, isn't available in those panels so there's no way of knowing which one is installed.
Your screen shots show that you are using a very old driver at the moment. If you aren't having any display issues with your software there's no real requirement to change anything, but if you want to use a newer version you can download it from the
official Nvidia driver site. At the moment the latest Studio version is 511.65 and the Game version is 511.79.
The Nvidia driver page states:
Whether you are playing the hottest new games or working with the latest creative applications, NVIDIA drivers are custom tailored to provide the best possible experience. If you are a gamer who prioritizes day of launch support for the latest games, patches, and DLCs, choose Game Ready Drivers. If you are a content creator who prioritizes reliability for creative workflows including video editing, animation, photography, graphic design, and livestreaming, choose Studio Drivers. Do a little bit of both? No worries, either can support running the best games and creative apps.
So you can decide which type is suitable for your needs.
