I'm running out of free music from the internet, which is what I've been using for background music for my videos.  So I got the free Cakewalk software and downloaded a bunch of free VST instrument plugins.  I wrote and orchestrated this folksy tune and then made a silly little animation for it.  I'm amazed at the quality of music that can be made entirely with free software.  If possible, listen to this with good headphones; cheap little computer speakers don't do it justice.  By the way, the first instrument is a traditional folk instrument called a hammered dulcimer.  It was sampled by Spitfire Audio as part of their LABS project, which provides free samples of folk instruments and other unconventional sounds.
