Yes you will need to purchase the Motion LIVE 3D Plug-in and then the Gear Profile for the hardware you plan to use. So for facial mocap you have two options. There is Live Face which works with an iPhone X or higher or Faceware. Please click the link below to find out more about all the supported mocap hardware.

Please Note: The Motion LIVE 3D Plug-in will be integrated into iClone 8 and will not require separate purchase. For use with iClone 7 it is still a separate plug-in that requires purchase.
