I am happy for your update but when are you going to let us export ORM maps with Game Base? It is ridiculous that we cant have an ORM map to use in Unreal or for any application. As not any studio uses seventy materials and hundreds of textures for just one character when exported full high-rez. Studios making games and VR like ours and has invested a lot of money in your product need to optimize and this is why everyone uses game base and merging Uvs for one material. Please let us export ORM maps in game base.

Also please fix the opacity not being working with the diffuse map when exported  in Game Base. When merged the eyelashes never work and a lot of manual work needs to happen. It is an easy fix please do it.

Peter, does Reallusion consider iC8 and CC4 capable of most things needed for major studio animations?

Honestly I would say..no
the restrictive content licensing makes distribution of native format assets to remote members of your team problematic, to put it charitably.

No Character ragdoll physics

No internal Fluid dynamics system.

only a sprite type particle system ,not true 3D particles
or true volumetric smoke not suitable for feature films IMHO.

Popcorn effects not supported in external render engine
such as omniverse,Iray 

Still not optimized for large crowds or even vast cities/landscapes.

Still not seeing any new announcements or animated samples of non Biped Critters running about like Dogs,Cats etc, in Iclone 8.


Iclone is a great option for independent users who can afford
to buy all of the plugins you need to be really productive.


But frankly
I see very little evidence that  major animation studio would use
Applications like Iclone,Daz studio,poser for a variety
of production and asset related reasons.

Thanks!  Pretty cool.  Like animagic I was around for the old director mode.  This one actually looks pretty useful.  I like the walk around and idle in a zone function for npcs.  I also tend to use the persona movement options quite often so....Yay!
