Sometimes I would like to edit a texture. I click on the Diffuse image and it opens the last path I was using, not where it is.
I'm probably not understanding the software, but I can't even see where the textures are stored or the file name to search.

I don't think the textures are saved. You have to save them yourself in any folder you create or in the textures folder in iClone.
I just can't remember where. I am not at my iClone PC.

Sorry, more confused. They are generated at use?
How do the vendors store them to be generated? Is it code?

For each project you create, textures are copied specifically for that project.
Just edit the texture you just opened.
You don't normally need the main texture.

Hi MaxxPowr, 

You're not alone, I've been using the software, primarily CC3, for a couple of years now and was really frustrated by it at first. I run into this a lot when using skingen. It forced me to learn where the files are and the folder structure. I eventually saved a shortcut to the CC3 Template folder in my own custom materials folder on my computer. It would be great if RL would provide a material library for users to store and quickly find/apply custom textures (noise, masks, etc.) within the programs themselves.

To find the files go to your disk drive, in this example it is C.  C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Reallusion\Template

However, you'll notice as you dig through the folders that they mostly contain RL proprietary files. So, you'll have to open things in the program and export from there. In CC3 you can export materials under the modify > Materials tab.

It's very different than what i'm used to. I've found "temp" images generated and was able to alter those. It worked, but just thought it would be easier to find the original files the program was using and alter them.
It's mostly ignorance and my familiarity with another 3d program. I guess it's why they don't show you the file name or the path.

Thanks for that! I thought I was being more dense than usual.
I'll figure it out. It has the learning curve of Photoshop, which I still haven't learned. 

It IS amazing how some of it works SO much better for animation than other programs.
Now if I can just figure out how those pesky folders work for finding things, even WITH the search option. Doh!
