I was reading the Python API documentation this morning (again), and I was curious about what is possible with the TCP Client. https://wiki.reallusion.com/IC_Python_API:RLPy_RTcpClient
This makes me think it might be possible to control IClone elements from an external application.
What I am thinking of building as a test is a C# windows forms program that sends commands to the Python Plug-in, and the plug-in executes it for IClone.
Before I dive in and start building, I am curious if anyone else has built anything like this, and does this sound possible what I am describing.
If I could build a C# - Python bridge, this expands my what is possible programming wise as I can build anything in C#, Python is a struggle for me still for complex scenarios (like a car traffic coordinator for example).
Thanks, I am off till next year and this sounds like an interesting project.

Hey, I am interested also, did you find anything? Can you call iClone from an external application?

i know nothing of this part of iclone, but If I were to look to answer this question, the first thing I'd look at are the midi plug ins - one of them requires you to do some 3rd party software installations - i never got it to work properly myself so -shrug-
