Hello all,

I'm just now starting my hair journey in the 3D world. I have my eyes on the Character creator hair builder system, as well as the beard and brows, as well as others. I know that Reallusion's goal is realism. I think that's a fine and worthy goal. It is not my goal. I want to do highly unrealistic, bordering on the silly to the materials of my hair. I want solid gold hair. I want hair made of lava. I want to apply mesh modifiers to the hair's geometry in blender to make it do whacky things.

The question I have is, what does the hair in these add ons look like without the "Natural" shaders on them? The closest thing I've found to the answer is in this promotional picture found here https://www.reallusion.com/character-creator/hair.html

If this image is accurate, then it's pretty much exactly what I want, in that there is individual geometry for "clumps" of hair. Is that what is being generated in these add ons? I appreciate any and all help in this matter. Thank you in advance.

Reallusion sells 2 kinds of hair: toon hair and the standard card-based hair, as shown in your pic.
Toon hair is a single sculpted mass, like the hair on statues. If the item you get has a properly unfolded UV map, you can map textures across it, including dynamic video textures.
You can investigate card-based hair by bleaching out the opacity of any standard hair in iClone. Go to the Opacity channel and use the Brightness color adjuster to white out all the black (transparent) shapes: this reveals what the cards look like.

You don't have to buy the hair in the pack. The Marketplace sells the hair, beard and eyebrows separately.

Actually The Hair Builder generate nothing, it is premade Hair parts for to put together.

If you want, you make your own Hair cards and Strand Texture. I highly recommend the Blender Hair Creator that come with this package. Has nothing to do with Reallusion, but is additional included in this package
It is an Add-on for Blender and have all what a 3D Hair Designer needed.
I love this tool, it is so easy to use and save huge time.
It extracts hair cards from any Quad mesh, you can draw Hair strands, use particle Hair and generate Mesh Hair cards  and even create own Hair strands texture with all needed maps.
Really nice !

At that time I had bought the Hair Creator separately, if I had known that Reallusion was making such a great offer here, I would have rather waited.
