I have iClone7 and the free version of CC3.
Is the upgrade price also for this free CC 3 version?
And is my upgrade price for iClone 7 + the free CC 3 version $599?

Hi Arie,

Somewhere in the mass of posts on the new versions it was mentioned that there would no longer be a "Free" version on CC. The buy $699 of stuff or upgrade both iClone and CC for $599 are the only options at the moment to get both.

Hi Arie

As Gerry said there will no longer be a free version of CC4 for iClone 8.

If you wish to upgrade from iClone 7 to iClone 8 then the cost will be $499 but if you also want CC4 then it will be $599 for both.

@Gerry and Peter

Many thanks for the answer.
It's clear for me.
I was unsure about the upgrade price for CC3, because there is now a paid and a free version.
I understand that both versions qualify for the upgrade price.
iClone 8 and CC4 (together) will cost $599.(upgrade price).

Best Regards,
Arie

I personally think that the upgrade price is a major slap in the face to those of us that have supported the Reallusion community for many years. I am still hanging on for Unity support, and am not buying anything until I see that.  I really don't need a second version of either iClone, or CC, so there is little incentive for me to buy anything from the store.

I was surprised to see in my email, there was going to be a iClone 8. iClone 7 seems like it has been around 10 years. I started with iClone 3, in 2008; which was very affordable. They said that iClone 9 would be released in the Spring of 2022. But RL has been late with their upgrades, (why no true date) and is very slow working out the bugs. Every upgrade from iClone 3 to iClone 7 has be really affordable. I stopped upgrading 3Dexchange a long time back, because I just used .skp files, for my own models, and never used the pipeline version. I'm not a animation pro, and I'm satisfied with my iClone 7 results. If this were my lifeline, then I could see me wanting more lifelike characters. The more detailed your graphics, the less avatars you can use, I'm more into quantity than quality in my scenes (Youtube - rioleo8). I would need a $4000 Threadripper Pro and 356 GB of RAM. Though iClone 7, is perfect enough for me, just look at Family Guy or South Park. There is not +$600 of improvements that would work for me. Every upgraded version of iClone 3-  to iClone &, had things I could really use to keep it simple. Yes the animation can be made smoother, but you can also do that taking your time. More CC avatars, hair, clothes, cuts down on my avatar count, and rendering speed. I love the movement of the Avatars in iClone 8, but I doubt I'll be making more movies after I finish my going to Rio video. Considering I clone was $199 if I remember right. I could only see me spending less, or the same price for the upgrade. The same with CC. $300 the most for both, and I don't care about 3Dexchange pipeline, and I need my .skp files. Good luck Reallusion with your new product. I think you put it out of price of people who do this on the side. I don't pay $600 upgrade for anything including Pro video editing programs. Email me when I can get both for $300 to $400. A lot of new people who will buy iClone 8, will really be ticked when they find out they'll need a 1080TI card or better, at least a  $500 processor and 512 GB of RAM, If they want more than 10 avatars in the same scene. Then after they buy all this, scenery, hair and outfits are not cheap now. I started in 2008, 13 years ago, and added things each month, or every 2 weeks. Most of my scenery I built myself with .skp files.

Home built; ASRock X570 Pro 4, AMD Ryzen 9-5950X CPU, AMD RADEON RX6900XT, 16GB video card, 131GB of RAM.

Hi Peter (again if this forum software is still playing up)

The price for getting both programs is not $599 but $799. And I should know. I have just spent $820 on various Content Store items only to be told that somehow this amounts to only $683 +.

No warning just congratulations on nearly doing it. Now I have to work out which items were disallowed and why, get the money back and try again - once again in the dark as to which items from the Content Store are acceptable and which not.

I do not care to be treate dthis way.

Oh, I think that happened to me one time.  Turned out I had bought a couple things from the SOFTWARE store, not the CONTENT store.  If you bought software or plugins, it doesn't count.  Just the packs from the content store (characters, hair, clothes, items, etc.).

Thanks for that.

But no. All puchases from the Content Store.
I cannot get a support ticket because the problem does not fall under their remit.
But one comfort is that the geniuses in the RL Marketing Department are going to find thousands like me raging at their failure to organise their cute deal to buy one thing to get another.
