Hello, everyone, I am presently using Iclone on a Mac through parallels.

It works but it’s crashing a bit too many times. So I’m going to buy a Windows computer.

I have seen conflicting advice on the forums about which graphics card to get.

I’m trying to build a dream system to be able to operate Iclone with many characters.

However I’m worried I may not have the best set up.

Will Iclone 8 be compatible with Quadro graphics cards?

Here is the computer I’m planning to buy. It’s really quite an investment so I want to chose correctly. Will this work well with Iclone?

Computer Details:
INtel Processor 10920X 12 cores at 3.6 ghz.
1 TB Nvme SSD boot drive
2 TB NVME SSd scratch drive
128GB of RAM
Nvidia Quadro A5000 card / 24 GB of memory
850W PSU gaold Rated
3 yeas of warranty / Windows 10 Pro license included

Should I swap out anything?

Thank you so much for helping a Mac guy try to switch to PC. 👊✌️

You might want to consider buying 2 of these https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=GeForce+RTX+3080+Ti&id=4409

Being that Intel has just launched their 12th gen, with a new socket, I would go with a 12th Gen chip at this point. It is likely to be the socket for many years, so will allow for future CPU upgrades. Getting the older socket generation is going to limit you in the future.

Being a more recent chip, it may also be as powerful in an i7 version, and so cheaper. Might be good to research that.

I think you mean the Nvidia RTX A5000, not Quadro A500, judging by the 24 gig. The RTX 3090 will probably give you a bit better performance in iClone, and cost a bit less. The 3090 also has 24 Gig.

The A5000 is actually a bit closer to the 3080 in performance.

Traditionally, Quadro cards have not been recommended for iClone.

As Job says - do NOT get a Quadro card.  The 3090 is by far the best GPU for iClone (and for most other things as well).

Alienware Aurora R16, Win 11, i9-149000KF, 3.20GHz CPU, 64GB RAM, RTX 4090 (24GB), Samsung 870 Pro 8TB, Gen3 MVNe M-2 SSD, 4TBx2, 39" Alienware Widescreen Monitor
