Hi, I have a requirement to create 3d characters and attach dance motion to it, then export as .mp4 file. For 3d characters, which reallusion software should i use?. I see CC3, Headshot , not sure which one newbie should try first Is there any demo which shows creating 3d characters , then using it in iClone and then attach motion (similar to CTA4) then render it to create video file. Thanks,

CC3 does not have animation, only poses. There are 2 versions of CC3, a Pipeline standalone version. Then there is the free CC3 version that comes with iClone 7. You can create characters in CC3 and animate them in iClone. If you buy the CC3 Pipeline, you can send your character to Unity and other 3D programs to animate. The free version of CC3 lets you send characters between iClone and CC3 only. You can buy single motions in the Marketplace or you can buy motion packs in the Content Store.

2D characters can dance too. If you're sure you want 3D, then iClone will be your core tool.
Do you have specific dance moves required, in time with specific music? Do you think motion capture (mocap) would be useful? Or can you use "generic" dance moves?

Thanks,

I made a tutorial on creating a CC3 character on Youtube (7 videos) a couple of weeks ago. I don't have a good voice for audio, so I don't talk in the videos. I use free version of bandicap. They give you 10 minutes per video. That's why there are 7 75% of original size (was 670x19) - Click to enlarge 75% of original size (was 670x19) - Click to enlarge parts to my CC3 tutorial. I give you first and last part. You can look at rest from the link. There are plenty of Tutorials on Youtube for creating CC3 avatars. The video links and photos show where the action is for sending character to iClone and rendering it.

Here is a link to a Reallusion page: https://neuronmocap.com/content/iclone-bundle
I am not a mocap expert, but you need to buy the hardware ("suit") and you may (probably) also want to buy the "motion live" plug-in. The hardware can be very expensive for an individual, especially if it is for a hobby. "Body" is a starting point, and it costs more if you want to capture the hands/fingers, and facial capture separate from body capture requiring different hardware (though you can do both at the same time). If you are doing it for a business, then it makes a lot of sense because of the productivity and creativity.
