jammer42777 (9/15/2021) This is more of an update question. Eventually I will need pipeline versions of iclone and 3exchange.
Would I be able to purchase the pro versions of these then upgrade to pipeline and pay the difference? Also do I need an ios device to record face mocap in iclone or would I be able to use a pc webcam? You can always upgrade from Pro to Pipeline for a discounted price but it won't be for the difference between the two versions. You will normally always save money by buying Pipeline first rather than upgrading later.

Get the pipeline, you will need it unless you are just buying content from Reallusion. If you plan on using your own artwork this is a must. I started in Jan.... and did get all the pipeline versions except 3D Exchange, it was 599.00 at the time and I was not doing anything in 3D outside Reallusion so it was not needed. It took 9 months but I finally need it and just purchased it earlier this week. Glad I waited... got it on sale for 249.00 :D Freedom to import Woo Hoo!!!
One piece of advice I could give is..... "Don't limit yourself"! If you have the extra few it takes to get the pipeline... it is 100% worth it not to be limited. Just my .02 :D

Thanks for adding that you are using CTA4. :)
The main difference between Pro and Pipeline is that Pipeline allows PSD import and export. With Pipeline you can use the supplied PSD Templates to quickly build characters, props and scenes using your favourite PSD compatible image or drawing software like Photoshop, Illustrator, Affinity Photo/Designer etc. You can also sync your work so that changes made in say Photoshop are automatically updated in CTA4.
With the Pro version you can still create characters and props but you do it all within CTA4 itself by importing artwork directly and replacing the sprites of the supplied templates.

You've left out one piece of vital information. Which product are you using? ;)

Hi All, A quick question from an animation newbie; Q: In simple terms what's the main differences between Pro & Pipeline? I've downloaded the 30 Day Free Trial and working my way through the tutorials before I start creating. And so far, I like what I've seen :)
