Hi everyone, Does anyone have experience using Character Creator and IClone (including its various plug-ins) via remote desktop? I ask because I am considering buying a very powerful and expensive tower PC to run these apps on. However, I would like the option of being able to use them from other rooms besides the room that the tower PC will be in. I've heard that there are remote desktop emulation apps that would make this possible. I was wondering if anyone has tried any of them and if they recommend one? Thanks. Kirk

Hi everyone,
I did some research and discovered that Google makes a reasonably good remote desktop controller, called Chrome Remote Desktop. It is free to use. All you need is to have Google Chrome installed on both the PC that you want to control and the PC that will control it, and have Chrome Remote Desktop installed on the PC to be controlled. Once installed on the controlled PC, you can open Google Chrome on your controlling PC, connect to the controlled PC, then work on the controlled PC through a Google Chrome browser tab. Doing this gives you the ability to have Character Creator and IClone installed on a powerful, expensive, stationery desktop PC, and use them through a mobile device like a laptop or tablet.
There are other remote desktop controllers besides Google Remote Desktop, but this one is easy to install and use, and is free. There are several videos on YouTube that cover this topic and explain how to install whatever remote desktop software works best for you.
Cheers,
Kirk

One more posting on this subject. Another remote connection option is Windows Remote Desktop. I switched to using it instead of Google Chrome Remote Desktop, primarily because I am able to use multiple monitors on my remote machine, whereas it seems that Chrome Remote Desktop doesn't enable multiple monitors. The main drawback with Windows Remote Desktop is that both the connection and remote machines need to be running Windows 10 Pro or higher. (I assume that Windows 11 also will have Remote Desktop, but I'm still using Windows 10).
