iclone 7 export too slow and not responding, it Takes longer to export the MiResources than rendering them

Hi...

Sorry to hear you have experienced problems rendering Iray.

Sadly without knowing more about the problem it's impossible to say if what you are experiencing is normal or abnormal.

Please can you share more details about the project you are trying to render. For example how many frames are you trying to render, resolution etc.

Also please share your system specifications including graphics card as obviously this plays a key part in the process.

Thanks for explaining a little bit more. Your specs aren't the problem so please take a look at the tutorial video below. The latter part explains how to reduce export time and render time by reducing file size.

Hopefully this will help speed things up for you, but of course there is no way to make it super fast due to the large number of .mi files being exported.

Hi,
reduced the materials to one for each mesh and polygon reduction helped a lot 🙂
But still exploiting .mi files take longer than rendering them...is that normal or I need to do something?

Try my method, it works to speed up any CPU process that doesn't require the viewport that I've tried so far. 
I have exported heavy scenes in 1 1/2 days that would normally take a week.


Close smart gallery, Make the viewport small as possible. If you can set Iray to your custom render size and iclone to 48x48 viewport preview then this would be most ideal - I know 100% shrinking the viewport speeds up Iray export and Physics Baking. 
Set any model that is in the distance to 1k or lower with max compression.
link textures as much as possible if the models are the same
Turn off any function you don't need such as displacement, glow, refraction, GI, HDR, etc  GI and HDR, substance (substance textures need to be baked) these are not used by Iray, I may have forgotten others.
Turn on auxiliary lighting (disables shadows and seems to free up resources)
Note: Smooth mesh by subdivision isn't compatible and will slow export down.
You can animate the visibility/rendering of objects and characters, you can animate the visibility off when not seen by the camera (this may also speed up export & rendering but I haven't made a comparison to test this.)  
If you have 32 GB of ram installed try setting your virtual memory to 32 GB for the drive you have iClone installed on and any drive you read/write files to.
