Marvelous to CC3 to Unity

Currently trying to find a good workflow from marvelous designer to CC3 then to Unity for a pc/ console game.
new to cc3 and marvelous and wondering if anybody could give me some advice or point me in the direction of any good tutorials.
Mainly regarding good topology for clothes in marvelous and having a lower polycount for a game engine.
 I've purchased some clothes for marvelous designer, imported the obj directly into cc3 weighted the clothes and deformed to fit the character in cc3.
the polycount is huge on the garment 185517 tries for a skirt and jumper.
I've watched some videos to use the poly reduction tools and reduced the garments significantly to 9998 trid they still look and deform ok but the topology looks terrible. 
Do other people work with polycounts this high from marvelous designer for game assets for unity in cc3?
Are topologys important now if they still deform ok in CC3? (this kind of go's against everything I've previously been taught with regards to good topology and weighting for animation)
Should I retopo the garment in marvelous then reskin in CC3 for a lower poly garment? 
sorry in advance for the noob question just there doesn't really seem to be any clear videos for the workflow between the three programs (most people don't seem to bother with retopoing the garments in marvelous from what i've seen but I don't know what there intentions for the garments are) and I'm just trying to piece together one that could work for me.
