Ok it appears I jumped the gun! I ran into more issues trying to emulate your cool face projection effect - But with a CC character.
UE5.2 - MH - Makeup (youtube.com)
- how did you mask portions of the face? - is this something that was done easily using metahumans material instances? (I am actually trying to achieve the effect with a CC character). I've managed to get the media player to blend animations on the face fine via the blend map and get it to record in MRQ but i am having trouble getting it to show on specific areas of the face only? e.g. let's say I didn't want it to play on the lips - would i have to add a mask to the master material RL_HQSkin? (if so any pointers appreciated!) Or should I think about altering the original footage to play only on specific areas (seems fiddly!)?
Thanks for any help

How bi-directional is the connection between iCLone and Unreal?

I was playing with the 'Look at' function in iClone hooked up to a custom MetaHuman in Unreal. All works great. But switching between UE en IC is quite a hassle.
So I was wondering....would it be possible to transfer the look at object to UE and control it from there, while sending data back to IC?

If that not's possible I might try this route below (without IC), but it's a tedious process;)

Bi-directional is not that easy ( no idea how IClone receives realtime data from UE (C++)) , but you can use a prop for look at in IC8 and UE5. You can parent the prop to a camera or freestyle and you can drive the prop with IC8 or UE5.
Works for MH too (FKRig), You can add neck and Head too ...
Did you try this?

You have to add texture slots and masks ( or use the makeup masks which are already involved ) to the Master Material BP , I did it some time ago for a CC and I will search in my Backups if I  still have the project. Doing it for a CC4 is way more easy than for a MH  🤪

CC4 Face Masks :

REPLIKANT is a very fun program created with Unreal Engine. You can create character animation quickly and easily.

@Bassline303 I've used the lookAt prop in iClone wich works great. So my first thought were sending that prop to Unreal and control it from there. But that wasn't possible.
But the method in the youtube clip looks promising if it also works with MetaHuman.

Sadly the MetaHuman rig is not responding when I move the target object that is used as LookAt constraint for the Eye controllers:(
Going to fiddle around some more with it.....

Thanks!!

Edited: Figured it out just before midnight:)  Will post the workflow for MH with head and eye controller tomorrow!
