I am trying to render the particle effect smoke, and it's not showing up in Iray. Is there a setting that I need to make this appear?

Iray does not render particles.
To deal with it, you have to render smoke separately in iClone and compose it in post.
If there are objects in front of the smoke (blocking it partially), then shade those objects in green and render along with smoke. Then remove object with green screen filter after composing.
Some other problems might come along, which you' might need to figure one way or another.

I have the same Idea. Im now on my first Bigger Iray Object, i made a Test here, finally i build my new Pc, i only get an RTX2060 But anyway, this Pc does nothing else than Rendering, i need it for nothing else. BUT
back to Popcorn FX. I also had trhe same Idea doing 2 Clips. but heres the Thing : For example lets take the Smoke now. the Smoke is BEHIND an Spaceship in Iclone, and Than if i render the smoke alone...i must cut out the Ship out, and put it in front of the smoke in Hitfilm for example? OR? If i make the Ship invisible,...ah me Idiot, i just test it now lol. Sry for wasting your Time lol But at Least i will tell you here than if it work

But i have an Idea. 3 Layers. First render the Background. than the Object than the Effect, and put the Effect between those 2... But than its ONLY behind the Object...

Is there any News to Iclone 8? I read now al lot to understand that Iray and Popcorn Fx will not happen in IC7, but someone knows what is about IC8?

I doubt Iray would render Popcorn in 8, but lets wait for iClone 2021 roadmap... Although it's about time to put a roadmap 2022 already :Whistling:

You can have as many layers as you want, sure.

But here is how to make only 2 passes: Iray and iClone

First render Iray PNG Sequence

Then make a copy of the object(s) (boat in this case) in the front of Popcorn FX. Make it Green (0,255,0) (You can actually use Red or Blue as well, in case your popcorn has green in it).
Disable shadows for object. Make it a Traditional shader, remove all texture maps from materials except opacity, crank Self-illumination to 100%
Render ONLY that object(s) and PocornFX as PNG sequence in iClone.

Finally bring both image sequences to HitFilm and apply Color Difference Key filter to iClone image sequence (filtering a green boat out).

In some cases you might also need to apply and play with Matte Cleaner filter.

It depends on many scene factors. Number/type of foreground/background assets. Presence of semi-transparent objects in the scene and others.
Making multiple Iray passes and composing is not always the same as making one pass. Beside, I'd rather do one Iray pass than waiting days for making multiple. Again, it all depends.
