I measured the loading time of iClone 7 with my new DELL desktop with iCore 9 and Gforce 2060 graphic.
Time for loading iClone 7 is acceptable to me, since it only does once in a while.

With my project, there is a task at 75% of the progress bar that takes a long time.
At 96% of the progress bar, there is also the 'save undo-redo' data, that also takes up a lot of time.
Kept in mind that, I already cleared out all temporary files of the computer as recommended by iClone 7 tech. support.
You can find all the time length in the following video
But the strangest thing is the deletion of an object such as the standard actor Heidi. With a project containing a lot of objects (and a lot of triangles[faces]), it takes an 'unreasonably long' time to delete and undo.
There is not much very useful comment from iClone 7 technical support
The following is the video link, I hope it is embedded. I used the Insert Video function of this forum

You have Character Creator 3. Why not just create a character or use the default character in CC3? You can send your CC3 avatar to iClone. I rarely use the default characters. I create my own in CC3. Just don't use Heidi at all, if she is causing you problems.
I have an i5 3470s and a GTX 1060 3GB graphics card with 14GB RAM. Iclone takes a couple of minutes to load on my PC.
Did you try opening iClone from the HUB? Maybe one of your props is the culprit in causing the slow loading and deleting times.
I try and save my project every half hour or so. Yesterday I was creating an avatar in CC3 for about an hour. I forgot to save and CC3 crashed.
Stuff happens. Everyone's PC is different in some way, even though they have similar PC parts.

Yeah, I don't have the time to waste to watch your video but you need to try some standard things first to know what's going on.

Load the loft scene (in the Projects/GI folder) and tell us how long it takes to load. Takes less than 5 seconds on my machine but it would be good to know how long it takes on yours.

Now try the ExPlus Facial Demo (Project/Character).  Shouldn't take more than 30 seconds to load (a MUCH larger project, though).

Those two standard projects should tell you how long it should take most folks - if you are experiencing longer than normal loading times on THOSE then there is something wrong with your machine/setup.  If not, then you're probably doing fine.

iClone does different things with different kinds of projects.  The first (the loft) has a lot more objects but is a smaller project than the Facial demo one.  So it isn't how many objects or polys you have, but often times characters will have a major impact.  If you really want us to try and help you, though, you'll have to post your project so others can try it.

Saving the project with different names periodically is the way recommended by Technical Support. I am doing it right now.
I also try to save all the fixed position props (like a road, walls etc..) as a custom prop (by attaching the parts together). I then create a new project and places all these props without doing re-do or undo operation. These likely shortens the loading time at the step of 're-do & undo"
You mention about the crashing CC. I observed a similar thing with iClone 7 (the current version).
When it is idle with a loaded project for some time, it will crash.
The crashing, e.g., happened when now I try to load another project or say create a new project..
It will stay at rendering for ever!

I have the same problem and I thought it was something in my PC.
I have another problem, when I try to add an object from a rar file and the file is corrupt IClone crashes too.

The loading time for the EX Plus Facial Demo project is
11.9 seconds for System A (Dell iCore 9 [i9-10900 at standard speed of 3.76GHz, 64Gb memory, GeForce RTX2060 graphic with 6Gb memory)
For a fair comparison, it is 65 seconds in old system (HP iCore 7 [i7-6700K at standard speed of 4GHz. 32Gb memory, GTX745 graphic of 4Gb memory
Of course for this project, 12 seconds of loading time is not annoying.

The point of my reporting is that for more complicate projects, especially involving converted objects from some Google 3d-warehouse, the loading time increases a lot. The file size of a 3d Exchange produced object (for iClone 7) from SketchUp can expand in size (compared to its original SketchUp file). I will report this 'significant' change later.

The report also emphasize why deleting an object in a large project is exceedingly long.. it is dependent, likely, on the number and complexity of other objects. This is illustrated in the video. the last part of it.
