The only qualification is it needs to be an iPhone with a 3D camera (the ones that use Face ID to unlock). This is MOST of the iPhones made since the iPhone X. But not all. You can tell because the ones that have the camera you need do NOT have a "home" button at the bottom. It used to be the XR was the cheapest iPhone that would work but I don't know what the cheapest one is nowadays. Of all the iPhones produced since the X the only one that will NOT work is the SE model. So any phone but that one and X or above (so the 8,7,6 will not work). You also do not need service on the phone, so it could be any used, unlocked phone. Some folks have gotten one for as cheap as $350.

Apologies if I write in this post but mine (same topic) is still under approval after an entire week. I have an iPhone SE 2020 and I was able to use it with live face during the trial period with no issues at all, I was really happy about it but also puzzled. Was it a bug in your opinion, sir? I should not be able to use it with my phone because it does not have a depth camera, but maybe it is because of the ARkit instead?

Hi... As a new member if you post twice on the same subject only one will be approved so do be careful to only post once per subject. However, the good news is you are no longer under approval so any further posts will appear immediately (but please still don't duplicate post).

Excuse me but I didn’t post twice. I wrote a new topic one week ago to report a possible bug and ask for clarification but since after one week the topic is still not published in the forum, I decided to look for help by continuing a discussion on a similar subject by asking a question to the user above me. I know I am not under approval because I was able to reply immediately to another user looking for help this afternoon.
