Live Link sequencer recording would be great if it would generally work.  Right now I am running a system with a Titan X Pascal.  IClone tells me it's getting 60fps using iClone alone.  When live linked IClone tells me it's dropping to ca. 30-40fps depending on the scene.  But really that's not what arrives in UE.  I've just been setting up a close up shot and what I'm seeing in UE are maybe 8 fps with iclone using 4GB of the available 12GB video Ram telling me it's 30+ fps.  So is there a way to set up UE for better performance (other than switching to wireframe when recording)?  Would an upgrade to an RTX 3090 even fix this, or would that be just $1500 wasted?  I want 24fps, I don't need 60.
For those of you working for Reallusion, what do you use?

What are the specs of the machine used in this tutorial video?

For Live Link it is the CPU that affects performance the most. Having a fast CPU (latest Intel i7, i9 etc.) and plenty of system ram will improve frame rate more than having a faster graphic card.

I have a fast CPU and 32GB RAM and I also get only 30 to 40 fps per second. It would be no problem if I can force iClone to a playback rate of 30 fps, but I can't.
In the live link tutorial the tutor says just record one character at the time. That helps to get the 30fps mark, but iClone delivers unsteady frame rates, because there is no force downgrade to 30fps. When you combine the seperate shots into one, you'll get animations which are completely out of sync. I have a sword fight and it won't work. So, live link is pretty much useless ... sad, but the truth ...

Hi -  pissed off  as you -
I have a Ryzen 3950x 16 core cpu with an RTC 3090 gpu. All ssd with 64 GB ram. Top of the line build. This thing is a monster.
Latest version of Iclone 7 and unreal 4.26
Use Xsens Awinda  and Manus Gloves for Motion cap -(  although that isn't a problem to capture etc with iclone livelink)
And of course use/test with motion live etc.

Same bottleneck as you - no better than 6-10 fps on the unreal side and I've followed all the optimizing in the FPS video tutorials to a T.
And, like you, I spent money on the back of those RL tutorials, however I should have really paid attention to the FPS as the snippets don't tell the entire story.
Not a newbie - I have Cinema 4D, working professional in all media / Premiere pro CC - use Z brush and Substance and can find my way around Unreal no problem.

Like you, I expected at least one character to be able to work at 60FPS ( or close) let alone 2

So, I'm going  to try to hook up another PC but its somewhat silly  since the RL fps tutorial say they are using one computer. Doubtful if it will get around the bottleneck because they
even say in the video there will be lag through the ethernet connection. This is outrageous.

It's been a while since I built it which is why I'm asking.  Will building a new one make it work?

I'm running:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6950X CPU @ 3.00GHz   3.00 GHz
64GB of RAM
GPU: Titan X Pascal
Livelink Sequence recording is a problem on this system.

I'd really like to know what system was used to do this tutorial:

That's a good question I'd like to see the answer for that ...

3 Ghz CPU is very low for LiveLink.

You would need 4 to 5 Ghz. AMD 5800X / 5900X would be nice
Overclocking RAM also increases FPS during livelink --- If you have the funds go for  3600Mhz CL14 Memory https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/team-group-t-force-xtreem-argb-ddr4-3600-cl14-2x8gb-review
You may also wait for DDR5 it might come 4th quarter this year
