So right now i apparently have what is Character creator 3 trial , and it says " pipeline trial" . And the buy option i guess is "claim your discount " button. Then it brings me to page that has  " Character creator 3 pipeline" . Is that what i want to buy? I mean is that the whole base project for creating characters , adding armor or clothes , and say exporting to Unreal 4 , etc..... ? Or is there something else needed ? Thanks

If you buy iClone 7, you get CC3 free with it. But you can't use skin weights to attach your own clothes to your character.
The pipeline version of CC3 allows you to use skin weights and apply the clothes you download from other 3D sites (FBX, OBJ) or clothes you make
using other software. That is probably the main difference.
If you buy iClone 7, you can animate your Character there. I converted over 2300 Mixamo animations last year to use in iClone 6 and 7.
It is free to download from my youtube page. No ads or anything, just click on link and it takes you directly to the download page.
Without iClone 7, you have to rely on other programs to make your scene.
3DXChange 7 converts FBX and OBJ files for use in iClone. If you see a free 3D car you like on Turbosquid, just download FBX or OBJ file and 3DXchange 7 converts the item as
a prop to use in iClone 7. The pipeline version of 3DXChange allows you to take your iClone  characters and convert them to FBX to use in other software programs like Unity.
If you bought iClone 7, and 3DXChange 7 regular version, it would only cost you $199.00. And you still get CC3 for free.
Iclone 7 and 3DXChange 7 are on sale until Jan 4 for $129 each. But if you bought both at the same time, it would drop the price to $99.50 each for
a total of $199. I hope I did not overwhelm you with my post. I do not work for iClone or have any Marketplace store. I just have fun.

No that helps , thanks , basically i am working with UE4 , but with trial version i tried to import FBX armor in , but it said i need some kind of FBX key and it would not let me import . Also i created a character in CC3 and it seems i could not export him either . Is there an option to send character directly to UE4 ? I dont need animations , jus character and some separate armor meshes. thanks

To import any hair, clothing (including armor) or accessories you just need to choose Create > Accessory from the Menu Bar. Then select your OBJ or FBX file.

I'm not sure what the problem was exporting your character but Character Creator 3 Pipeline has direct export to game engines like Unreal, Unity or any other 3rd party software. Just select File > Export > FBX Clothed Character and then choose the export pre-set you want (Unreal etc.).
